Companion Dog Training Course
A two day practical course which covers all the essentials you need to understand how to get a great relationship with your dog, improve their motivation and focus and how to teach them our human expectations and requests.
Unlike many other courses, this course is mostly run outdoors in realistic situations so that you and your dog learn together and can apply what you learn to your daily routine with some distractions.
The course covers the following and more:
The essential principles of training
How dogs learn
Understanding body language
Building motivation and focus through game play
Building resilience and confidence
Establishing reliable obedience commands - sit, down, wait, come, leave
Chaining behaviours
Loose lead work
Distraction training
All breeds and dogs over 4 months are encouraged to attend as long as they are fully vaccinated. The course is run outdoors so is weather / numbers dependent. Not all dogs benefit from group training as some specific behavioural issues are best tackled on a one on one basis. Dogs attending need to be sociable with people and other dogs. Please contact us if you are unsure so we can discuss this with you and your options if this is the case.
Cost: $295 for 2 days (price is per dog - all family members welcome to attend)
Where: Our premises in Aongatete
When: 10am - 4pm

"I just wanted to drop you a quick e-mail to say thanks for the weekend Companion Dog training course. It was really useful, helped me so much and has left me feeling a combination of motivated and hopeful the future with Rudi. This was actually the 4th training course/group we have been to, and I was actually dreading it a bit because the previous groups have left me feeling frustrated and that we were a bit of a lost cause. But the weekends session was the opposite, I really enjoyed it and have come away full of hope. |
